Notarization involves having a notary public verify the authenticity of the document. If it doesn’t have the raised seal, how am I suppose to obtain it or a copy that has one? Looking up the info told me that birth certificates can’t be notarized? Looking into it further shows that it might not even be accepted for my passport application if it doesn’t have the seal.how might I go about obtaining the raised seal so that it meets RCs requirements?ĮDIT: It does have a State of Texas Department of State Health Services, Vital Statistics things in the bottom right corner. To enhance the validity and acceptance of a translated birth certificate copy, notarization is often required. It’s on a “State of Texas Certification of Vital Record” paper with a blue border, and when I hold it up to a light it says “VITAL RECORD” and “OFFICIAL” with these wavy lines that seem to be slightly raised on the paper, kind of like the seal is supposed to be. This letter includes your full names and address, title/subject of the letter, details of the letter, dates of signing the letter, and a section for the notary to sign the letter. You’re the individual drafting the letter. However, what it seems to be missing is a raised seal of some kind. A personal notarized letter is a document confirming you are the true identity of the persons signing the letter. I’m pretty sure it’s long form (contains all of the info a long form would need such as parents’ DOB and birth places, birth number, registrar’s file number, signature of registrar, attending physician info, dates, etc.). Royal Caribbean says they need either the original copy or a notarized copy in order to board, and I’m not sure if the copy I have qualifies. However I still want to make sure my birth certificate is in order in case my passport doesn’t come back in time. I know it’s cutting it close, but I’m doing the expedited process with 1-2 day mailing. Due to life’s circumstances over the past few months, I wasn’t able to get apply for my passport until tomorrow (Nov. I’m suppose to sail on Allure of the Seas on January 15th. I know this subject comes up a lot and I apologize if this is too long of a post, but I’ve been scouring the web for the past two hours because of it and still have no definitive answer.
